Airline Caterers on the road to perfection.
Airline Caterers take on an entire new role, exhibiting an attitude with “business change”.
This industry seems to have gotten to grips with its business focus, and has set a path to bring an entire new meaning of what is expected of Airline Catering now and in the future.
“Perfection is a journey and not a destination..”
In the last few years, it embraced automation, fusing manual methodologies with digital “computerized” aid, hereby crossing the supply-chain learning curve and gracefully bridging the knowledge gap with its entire work-force and there invaluable services RESULTING in automating the supply and food-chain-process.
Today “LEAN” is the pinnacle of the automation success, making legacy methodologies “passé”, whereby LEAN concepts (Sigma + DMAIC) form a crucial element of the work-force efforts to “continuously improve” business and its services, hence, achieved by merging and synchronizing People+Product+Systems, RESULTING in shortening the food-chain-production-cycle.
LEAN provides a platform for varied results, namely:- business success, cost efficiency, better service, and ultimately enhancing the passenger gourmet experience on-board a flight or other transport.
Caterers have also broken away from their traditional and limited nut-shell, expanding their business framework by forging with key entrepreneurial suppliers at macro level, securing a wealth of business services now termed “Groups”, all to better serve its clientele.

2008 Opening Statement!
Caterers & Flight Service centers move with ERP II....
2007 proved an active year, as certain Inflight Catering centers focused on their business layers, ensuring all sectors used the technology stream to its fullest, and adopt LEAN business processes, enhancing their efficiency while offering its clients a variety of e-based flexi-options, the trend will continue throughout 2008:-
The "CI" continuous improvement business approach, has provided substantial changes permitting the caterer and airline to work in par with required synergies being a win-win solution.
Caterer's are therefore kept in pace with the Airlines strict business processes, at the same time adding business value, as each sector reforms itself with LEAN methodologies enhancing "Business Change" as technology culture deepens and influences management and business decisions.
2008 will also reveal legacy service processes being totally "passe", making room for LEAN processes in par to innovative technology and its managing style, imposing change in management layers.
